The Davos of Motorsport #WMS14
10 years of inspiration and brainstorming

Having just celebrated its tenth anniversary, the RACE TECH World Motorsport Symposium has built a reputation as the most prestigious international event and forum organised for the who's who of motorsport engineering at all levels to get together under one roof and freely discuss issues specific to them as well as being a place where new ideas are aired. Chaired every year by Audi Sport's Ulrich Baretzky and Caterham F1's John Iley, who take time out of their extremely busy schedules to run these two fantastic days along with the RACE TECH magazine team, it was recently described as the 'Davos of Motorsport' whilst the awards dinner was coined by an Italian journalist as the motorsport industry equivalent of the Nobel Prize.

Due to popular demand, once again the format in December 2014 was in the style of a Motorsport Cabinet Meeting making proceedings far more interactive for everyone. Rather than have a series of presentations delivered over the two days, there were fewer speakers, more panelists and a forum that generated much more open debate. Discussions then continued in the evening during the awards ceremony.

THE DEBATE:
Does it have a role in exploiting new technologies, even if they are disruptive and can be costly,
or should they be controlled and even discouraged?
