EVOLUTION OR REVOLUTION - The Racing Car in Five Years
The 7th RACE TECH World Motorsport Symposium, the ONLY event that is organised specifically for MOTORSPORT ENGINEERS across the sport, kicks off 'International Motorsport Business Week' at Oxford Brookes University Engineering Centre in Motorsport Valley with the Aerodynamics/Vehicle Dynamics on Monday 9th January, the networking awards dinner that same evening and the Powertrain Day on Tuesday 10th January.

Building upon the reputation it has built since the inaugural event in 2005 as the premier event where everyone involved in the technical side of motorsport can come and learn, talk and network, the 2012 Symposium is considering the racing car of the near future. Living in an age where we have to justify the sport, the topic is looking at the racing car in five years’ time. Will it be an evolution of the cars we see race today in Formula One, NASCAR, at Le Mans or in the Indy 500, or will they be like the radical DeltaWing and herald something quite different? Whether your interests are in aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, vehicle engineering or powertrain, there will be many things to catch your interest. With so many senior people from the industry present, including representatives from the sanctioning bodies, now is the time to sign up to give you the inside edge when it comes to gearing up for the future.

“The WMS presents a rare opportunity for like-minded engineers to discuss areas of the sport that they may not be so familiar with thereby expanding each other’s knowledge for mutual benefit, it is also an excellent networking opportunities”

BEN BOWLBY, TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, GANASSI RACING
"The World Motorsport Symposium provides the industry with a critically important opportunity to exchange ideas and observations. These influence the direction and ultimately to some degree the success of the sport we call our profession. There is now the growing realisation that we are perhaps one of the most challenging and potentially exciting eras of the sport's history - the era of Engergy Conscious Performance!.
